Meet Shawn Milton, a skilled and compassionate Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) dedicated to helping you achieve optimal health and wellbeing. Shawn founded Active Holistic Therapy in 2018 to help guide those on their wellness journey by providing massage therapy that heals both body and mind. Shawn has extensive experience (over 15 years) and training in a variety of techniques including deep tissue, myofascial release, cupping, lymphatic drainage, TMJD intraoral therapy, sports massage, PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation), hydrocollator heat therapy, among others. Whether you are seeking relief from muscular tension, migraines, a sports injury, inflammation from overuse, or simply stress reduction, Shawn is committed to tailoring each session to address your specific needs and concerns.
Meet Julia! Julia has been practicing Massage Therapy since 2007. She received her BA from UW-Whitewater and her Massage Therapist certificate from Lakeside School of Massage Therapy in Milwaukee, WI. She is also a certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher with 20 years of teaching experience.
Julia’s unique style of bodywork combines Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue and Trigger Point work, passive and active range of motion techniques. She strongly believes in educating her clients on the importance of movement and possibilities of reaching optimal health through a healthy lifestyle. It is highly likely that she will send you home with a little homework on self-massage, gentle stretches, and encouragement to be an active participant in your healing process.
Julia loves spending time with her family and friends, preferably on the beach, on a paddle board. She loves reading, gardening, cooking, baking, and simple gifts of sharing food and a good laughter. She moved to FL from NH with her husband, two children, and two cats in 2022.
Meet our newest massage therapist, Jenna! Jenna earned her massage license in 2012, after graduating with an associate in applied science degree from The Community College of Rhode Island. She practiced in Rhode Island for 8 years working in several aspects of massage, including 2 hospitals. She also helped develop an oncology and lymphedema program at a private massage office in Providence. She became a Certified Lymphedema Therapist in 2015, which is training reserved mostly for Physical and Occupational Therapists.
She and her family moved to Florida in 2020, where she has been practicing for 6 years. She joined AdventHealth in 2021 and has been vocal about the benefits of massage for everyone, especially oncology patients. She is a member of the AH Oncology SIG and was a former Communication Co-Chair for the group. She has experience working with a variety of soft tissue modalities including IASTM and cupping. She uses these techniques on post-op patients as well as professional athletes like MMA fighters, WWE NXT wrestlers, and college football players.
Meet Helen! As the heart of our administrative operations, Helen ensures smooth and efficient functioning across our office environment. She expertly coordinates logistics, optimizes processes, and fosters a productive workspace for our team. Known for her meticulous attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills, Helen handles everything from scheduling and facility management to marketing and events. Beyond her organizational prowess, Helen brings a warm and approachable demeanor that enriches our office culture.
